As a member of Rio Salado Vizsla Club, you gain access to exclusive events tailored for Vizsla owners. Participate in training sessions, competitions, and social gatherings designed to enhance your experience.
The Rio Salado Vizsla Club community is here to support you. Whether you have questions about training or need advice on health issues, our members are always willing to help each other out.
Members must be at least 18 years of age. Dues are paid on or before January 1 each year. See the membership application for membership dues.
When you apply for membership in the Rio Salado Vizsla Club, you agree to support the By-Laws and Code of Ethics of the Club, the AKC Code of Sportsmanship, the rules of the American Kennel Club, and the rules of the Vizsla Club of America.
You agree to encourage high standards of breeding, training, and showing of Vizslas. You also agree to promote the welfare of the Vizsla breed. Any breeding or sale of individual Vizslas or litters of Vizslas by our members, not in the best interest of breed, shall be cause for that person’s membership to be reviewed.
OBJECTIVES
To encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred Vizslas; and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.
To urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the Vizsla Club of America and the American Kennel Club, as the only standard of excellence by which Vizslas should be judged.
To protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanship at any Rio Salado Vizsla Club, American Kennel Club, or Vizsla Club of America event.
To conduct licensed events under the rules of the American Kennel Club; and to conduct sanctioned events under the rules of the Vizsla Club of America.
MEETINGS
Several general meetings are held throughout the year, including an annual meeting in the spring. Watch the calendar for the next meeting.
EVENTS
Various events are held throughout the year to showcase your dog and allow the members to socialize with each other. Watch the calendar for upcoming events.
TRAINING
Training sessions for general socialization, basic obedience, show handling, and hunting tests are held during the year. More experienced club members work with the new people and their dogs to get them started to train for participating in an event.
Vizsla RESCUE
Our Club is very active in Rescuing Vizslas in Arizona. We work in conjunction with the VCA Breed Rescue.
